
In June 2017, The SDS signed a bilateral agreement with UDD, Universidad del Desarrollo at Chile.
UDD is a private institution with 12 different faculties. One of the, the faculty of design, has become our latest partner institution for student and teacher exchange.
UDD was founded in 1989 with the key values of entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, leadership and public responsibility. The School of Design counts 800 students on Bachelor level, which offers 3 programmes:
– Graphic Design
– Digital Interaction Design
– Space and Product Design
UDD School of Design has co-organized three times the Design Biennals, attended by nearly 30 000 visitors each.
At the Design Biennal “Bienal en Alerta” in January 2017, James Toleman, Industrial Designer and professor at The SDS, has been invited as a keynote speaker and workshop leader representing The SDS. The title of his contribution was “Disaster Food – how to insure food supply in disaster periods”.
Information for exchange students:
The semester dates are March to July for the first semester and August to December for the second. Teaching language is mainly in Spanish, but some courses are also in English. UDD is member of the Cumulus association.
